My predecessor recommended setting up nox for automated testing in multiple Python environments. If you don’t know what this means, or haven’t heard of nox, then you probably don’t need it. Unless you’re writing a public library targetting multiple versions of Python, you don’t need it. Even then, depending on the complexity of your project, you can probably get away with CI/CD alone (more below). And the simpler parts of nox (chaining linting, typechecking, testing) are already handled above by five lines of pyproject config.
